"Throughout the experience, I learned the value of patience and faith." - Sarah, USRN

October 5, 2021

I joined Health Carousel back in 2017. I can say that the application process went by smoothly. I was assigned to very accommodating advisors. They were able to help me from the start of the application until now that I am preparing for deployment. They were very eager to offer help, both in the technicalities of the application, and in terms of offering reassurances, encouragement, and push that I needed to get through the process.Throughout the experience, I learned the value of patience and faith. It may be a clich, but I have grasped the reality that these two characteristics are very important. I have encountered several delays in the process and the key is to be patient, while at the same time having faith that things will fall into place at the right time. We really couldn't make things run our way; there are situations that are out of our hands. Waiting periods are hard, and I must say that there are tons of anxieties, worries, and fears that came into play, but this is what I held onto, "Being confident in this: that He who began a good work in you will continue to perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6" Reading this verse over and over, playing it constantly in my mind and heart helped me throughout the process. I say that this is where the next chapter begins, and to me, it was not just a 'career journey', it's also (and I believe for the most part) a journey of faith; I learned lessons that will help me a lot for this next chapter. To my fellow RNs who are at any point on your application, I would like to encourage you by saying that God is faithful. There are times that you will grow weak and worry, but hang in there, He will get you through; He finishes what He starts. At moments when you feel drowned by anxieties and fear, be reminded that we can always come to Him in prayer, and in exchange, He will guard our anxious mind and fearful heart with His peace (Philippians 4:6-7). Lastly, while waiting, prepare yourself by learning all that you can. God bless.
